Happy to have you join me here on Wednesdays. The title of my blog should give you a little idea what to expect from me. Actually, it implies you’ll have no idea what to expect from me! Lest there be any doubt, let me clarify my thought process and lifestyle with a couple of definitions:
A walk without a definite route, taken merely for pleasure;
To wander around in a leisurely, aimless manner:
To take a course with many turns or windings;
Straying from one subject to another.
Wandering, Meandering, Sauntering, Stroll, Amble
Selecting what seems best from various styles, doctrines, ideas, methods, etc;
Composed of elements drawn from a variety of sources, styles, etc;
A person who favors an eclectic approach.
Truly, those words describe my philosophy. I meander through life, strolling from one type of job to another, wandering around the world, reading, watching, and listening to a variety of items. There’s a lot of interesting things in this world worth thinking about. Worth exploring, learning, sharing. So much to be fascinated by and wonder about. How can a person be expected to stay focused on only one particular thing? Perhaps I simply have undiagnosed Attention Deficit Disorder. If so, focusing on being unfocused is an excellent choice!
What types of things can you expect to find here as time goes on? “A little bit of this, a little bit of that, a pot, a pan, a broom, a hat.” (Fiddler on the Roof) Actually, we’ll be looking at scientific discoveries of all kinds; at reading, writing, and arithmetic. Well, maybe not arithmetic, but perhaps some math. There’ll be books, movies, and music; a little gardening, cooking, some DIY, homesteading, crochet, sewing, building instruments. Why not throw in a little dance expression, historical re-enactment, photography, painting, and drawing. Meandering to interesting places, invisible illnesses, guest posts, humor, stories….whatever catches my fancy at any given time. Hopefully, it’ll catch your fancy, too.
So, come on; take a little ramble with me through all things eclectic. Kick your shoes off and stay awhile. Enjoy yourself. Pour a cup of coffee or tea, the acknowledged elixirs of life.
